First, There is the House that we guess to be full of history. Not the History with a great « H » but full of stories told by thousands of hikers, each evening, around a warm and friendly table, in front of a meal or around the fireplace which warms up.
The Hiking trails, mainly the ones which stop at the Gîte Camelat, is good for people to talk and share passion for mountains and in search of authenticity. The walls of the Gîte are the everlasting witness of this and take part into creating this so specific atmosphere which is the sign of gîtes which have had a long life.

But the atmosphere is also due to the hosts, Lydie et Philippe, the masters of this house, who keep alive this tradition of welcome and simplicity. This best describes the
« Gîte Camelat». In France, meals are important times to share together. Lydie and Philippe knows how to get acquainted, at the same table, people who are different but share a lot of things. Together around simple but delicious dishes, the guests become animated and create, themselves, an atmosphere which spreads from table to table.

And who knows if the friendly ghost who haunts the house, Miquèu de Camelat’s one, does not take part, himself,
to the specific atmosphere, which gives you the desire
to come back next season, to meet up with new friends.
