The Val dAzun, nested in the heart of the Pyrénées Occidentales, is a privileged place to enjoy, thanks to its atypical orientation (east-west) of its main valleys, a period of maximum sunshine.

The Val dAzun is first 3 valleys, populated
with 10 villages and separeted by 4 passes. |
The valley of the Gave dAzun shelters together most of the villages : Arras-en_Lavedan, Bun, Gaillagos, Arcizans-Dessus, Aucun and Arrens-Marsous. The valley dEstaing offers you the deepness of its lake with blue or green glints.
Two villages are nested in it : Siriex and Estaing. |
The Valley of Ozoum, the most pastoral, the wildest, but the most authentic, is the nearest of the Pyrénées Atlantiques. Two villages populate it : Arbéost and Ferrières. |
These three valleys communicate through passes which all deserve a walking, driving or biking visit. It is moreover without contest the bike which has given theses passes their reputation, since, each year, the « Tour de France » passes by. The famous « Col du Soulor » (1474 m) gives access to the Pyrénées Atlantiques, through the famous
« Col de lAubisque ».
From the pass of Bordères (1156 m), you will have a splendid view onto the villages of Arrens-Marsous and Aucun. From the « Col of Caraduque » (1367 m), several summits can be admired by the hikers : the Balaïtous, the « Pic du Midi dArrens, the Cabaliros and Hautacam. Last, the « col des Spandelles » hidden in the forest, is a refreshing stage for all the hikers and bikers. |
